The Jurassic Coast Trust provides support for a diverse range of education, conservation, science and arts projects, which help local people and visitors to enjoy and understand the geological history and beauty of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site - now and for generations to come.
Projects include:
- Special Needs Education Arts workshops
- Jurassic Coast Traveling School Display
- The Great Dorset Beach Clean
- Global citizens workshops to explore links between World Heritage and the Olympic Movement
- Teacher training programmes in Pitons World Heritage Site, St Lucia on how to use World Heritage Sites as teaching tools
- Jurassic Coast DVDs for schools
- Conduit for the funding for the Weymouth and Portland Cultural Olympiad 2012.

| The Kimmeridge Project This project will bring together the Village Hall Trust and The Museum of Jurassic Marine Life Trust in the village of Kimmeridge to create a purpose built centre in the heart of the village that will serve the local community, visiting tourists, and house a fossil collection of global significance incorporating an education centre. | The Jurassic Coast Trust and West Dorset Leisure Holidays support local school training days West Dorset Leisure Holidays raises funds to support the Trust. The latest project is specifically for Bridport primary schools, and on 19th January a cluster INSET day of nine teachers from eight primary schools attended an all-day teacher training workshop at Highlands End Holiday Park conference facility. It was a very inspiring day where they helped teachers understand the significance of the Jurassic Coast and how to communicate it in the classroom. Details» (PDF) |

| Sidmouth in Bloom Doreen Franks of Oakdown Holiday Park says "we are delighted to support the Jurassic Coast Trust and 'Sidmouth in Bloom' in this joint project, which educates people about this particular part of the Jurassic Coast by providing them with a greater understanding of its geological significance. It is also very satisfying to know our guests recognise that such outstanding beauty and something as extraordinarily important in science terms, as the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, has to be cared for and not taken for granted". | The Jurassic Coast Trust sponsors a state-of-the art digital video microscope in time for the 2009 'Evolution Rocks!' - Lyme Regis and Charmouth Fossil Festival The microscope will be based at the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre and gives the general public and schools the opportunity to discover and examine their finds. It can be used in a variety of ways, not just to look at fossil finds but marine and wildlife samples such as plankton and botanical specimens as well. Details» (PDF) |

| The Land That Time Forgot - Schools Project The task for all three participating schools was to create 3D artwork based on the fossils and geology of the 'Jurassic Coast' using the famous scetch 'Duria Antiquior' by Henry De La Beche as their inspiration. This artwork will be used in the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival 2009 as part of a theatrical performance 'Herbie Treehead's Jurassic Underwater Show'. Details» (PDF) |

| Fossil Festivals The Jurassic Coast Trust sponsors the annual Lyme Regis and Charmouth Fossil Festival in May which is attended by experts from the Natural History Museum and many others in the fields of paleontology and geology and attracts thousands of visitors. Details» |

| Preparation of Fossil Crocodile Preparation and CT-scan of 130 million year old fossil crocodile skull, found and extracted from Durlston Bay, Swanage in April 2007. Research is currently being undertaken. |

| The Durlston Project Jurassic Coast Trust's flagship project, the first of an exciting programme of visitor centres planned at key locations along the coast. Working with Friends of Durlston the Trust is securing funding towards the £5.5m total project cost for this grade 2 listed Castle to be transformed into a world-class facility. |

| Arts and Education The Jurassic Coast Trust and the Fine Family Foundation jointly sponsored the educational arts project, Shapeshift: Landscape in Motion, exhibited at Durlston Castle. Other arts projects include the Exmouth and Seaton silk banners painted by college and school children. |
